Quadrus Metalltechnik GmbH, based in Schmidgaden, processes 1,100 tons of steel, stainless steel and aluminum per month. Welding, lasering, forming and deburring produce dust that is hazardous to health and explosive.

Requirement

Two Timesavers deburring machines, one for aluminum and stainless steel parts, the other for separate processing of steel, were to be reliably exhausted to ensure safe operation in accordance with occupational safety and to protect workpieces and machines.

solution

Two ATEX Wet separator extract the carcinogenic and explosive dusts via a pipe and bind them in a water vortex. The contaminated air flows through further filter stages and is returned cleaned to the production hall (recirculation mode). The dust is separated from the water and disposed of as sludge via a rollable container. The position of the wet separators on a steel platform directly above the machining centers saves space on the production floor.

The additional Extraction table serves as a workbench for manual deburring and edge processing for customized products. Coarse material falls directly down into a discharge container, while fine particles are captured via the back suction walls and filtered in the extraction system.
