✅ Safe extraction during deburring and grinding

10. April 2026

Deburring and grinding mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum produces fine, sometimes respirable metal dust, which can affect both the health of employees and the production quality. In combination with oxygen and an ignition source, an explosive atmosphere can also occur. ⚠️

To minimize hazards and ensure safe operation, two B 4000 series wet separators (performance: 11 kW | 14,800 m³/h) are used to capture the metal dust. One of the systems is connected to a deburring machine from Timesavers, the other to two extraction tables from the WT series with under-table collection and return flow collection via side hoods as well as two double sanding blocks.
We implemented the project together with Müller Maschinen & Anlagen GmbH. 💪

Our extraction units are designed to prevent the formation of explosive atmospheres and thus meet the requirements of primary explosion protection.
💧 The operating principle of our wet separators is based on a patented flow technology that enables high suction power with low energy and water consumption. The multi-chamber system separates the metal dust directly in the water with low resistance.
Potential ignition sources are reliably extinguished or rendered harmless by the water wall of the wet separator. This prevents ignition, so that no further explosion protection measures are required.
⚡️ This makes it possible to produce ATEX systems from ABSAUGWERK up to 50 % more economically and to permanently reduce operating and maintenance costs.

In addition, HEPA H14 after-filters are used to completely remove harmful emissions in accordance with TRGS 560. The cleaned air is then recirculated back into the room.
