The Biking Viking aka Bobby is currently touring the Lipari Islands in Southern Italy. The islands are of volcanic origin and therefore offer impressive views, unique geology and tough mountain tours. After 77 days on the road on the gravel bike, Bobby has cracked the 3,000 kilometer mark. After the Lipari islands, Corsica is the next country on the agenda. Vive la France!<\/p>\n

Good to know<\/strong> \ud83d\udca1<\/span><\/p>\n The group of Lipari or “Aeolian” islets is located off the coast of Messina in Italy. It consists of 7 islands: <\/span>Alicudi, Filicudi, Lipari, Panarea, Salina, Stromboli and Vulcano<\/strong> and belongs to the region of Sicily.<\/p>\n The islands are of volcanic origin and were <\/span>declared a <\/span>UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000 on the grounds that “the volcanic landscapes of the islands <\/span> are classic objects of continuing study in volcanology worldwide<\/span><\/p>\n
